In 1989, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, issued instructions to create a charitable institution with humanitarian goals within the Emirate of Sharjah. This institution was officially founded by Amiri Decree No. (1) of 1989, initially known as the "Charity Association." In the year 2000, it underwent an amendment, leading to its renaming as the "Sharjah Charity Association.
